Cool Websites to Aid the Everyday Business Traveler

by AvenueWest Managed Corporate Housing

There are so many things that can go wrong when traveling or making travel arrangements, but here are three websites that will make your journey a bit easier:

  • Turlytag.com. Have you ever had your luggage not turn up or ever had an important item like a laptop get stolen while you were traveling? By paying as little as $3/month, Turlytag.com provides you with 19 free tags (7 hard tags for your luggage, keys, etc. and 12 sticker tags for laptops, smart phones, etc.) each with “Return Me,” Turlytag’s phone number, website, and an item ID#. Whenever anyone finds your item(s) and calls/emails Turlytag to report the found missing item, Turlytag will then contact you via SMS, voice, and email notifications telling you where your item(s) were found. You then choose the best method for getting your possessions back. Another site, Boomerangit.com provides the same service only its basic subscription is $9.95/year which includes 25 item registrations on its website database; 1 year lost and found return service; and free standard shipping on all recovered items.
  • Tripit.com. Creating travel itineraries can be a daunting task especially if you have multiple arrangements to keep in order. Tripit.com allows users (for free) to have all flight, hotel, and rental car confirmation emails turned into one simple travel itinerary. All you need to do is register your email address and you can have Tripit automatically check your inbox periodically for travel itineraries that they will merge into one. Then you can share your plans with your contacts, or have alerts sent directly to your smartphone. Whenever you are planning a future trip, just click “add a trip” and it will ask for the destination city, start and end dates, nature of the trip (business or pleasure), and ask whether or not you wish to share the information with anyone or if you wish to keep it private (you can always share it later). There is also an option to upload a trip image.
  • Autoslash.com. Tired of paying the highest prices for rental cars even though you thought you got the best deal in town? Autoslash.com is the one-stop-shop car rental website where it will search all rental car providers to get you the absolute best rate. Even better, if they find a better price after you have already booked with them, they will automatically rebook your rental car for the cheaper rate!

Travel is still unpredictable at times but with these amazing sites, at least your stress level can be reduced a bit.
